MASA Parents,

Traditionally, MASA has offered in-house soccer for children through U-10, and "travel" soccer for ages U-10 and older. The transition to travel is out of necessity as we do not have enough players within MASA to remain in-house as kids get older. This spring, we have successfully piloted a program that will extend our U-10 in-house (called "Eagles") to the U-12 and U-14 age groups. This will provide an alternative to the travel league through partnerships with local clubs (Plum, Monroeville, etc). We are excited to announce that beginning this fall we will offer this as a program to MASA families.

This email is intended to raise this to your attention and to highlight the differences between the programs, so that you can be best informed as we approach the evaluation sessions. See below table for a summary of these programs.

We still would like all U12 and older players to participate in the upcoming travel evaluation sessions (more info click here) so that we can get a proper handle on our player base and make the best effort to place kids where they will best develop. However it is not strictly required if you know your child would prefer the In-House program. Those registrations will open with the In-House registration window later this summer.
