Foot Skills, Foot Skills, Foot Skills!

If your son or daughter is interested in improving their soccer skills over the winter (or anytime) the best thing they can do is work on foot skills. There are a number of organized training programs in the area that provide this type of training and it is also something that can be worked on at home by practicing around the house/yard for 20 or 30 minutes each day. For links to specific foot skills activities that can be practiced at home please see the below link:

MASA also continues to offer the First Feet program during the spring season as a way to get professional foot skills training at a very affordable cost for players in the U-6 and U-8 age groups. For more information on Feet First and to register see the MASA website.

Referee Opportunities

MASA games for ages U10 and above are all played with referees. Referees are always in demand not only in MASA but for most area youth and adult leagues. Becoming a referee is an excellent way to build leadership and interpersonal skills while getting exercise and making some extra money. Interested teens (age 14+) and parents can contact the MASA Referee Assignor for more information on how to get started. Contact information is at:

FRHS Soccer Clinic Update

We are working with the Franklin Regional High School program to try and re-schedule the skills training clinic at the high school that was rained out last fall. Our goal is to find a time in March before the start of the outdoor season, as soon as we have more information we will pass it along.

Open Volunteer Opportunities

MASA has a number of open volunteer positions, descriptions are attached to this newsletter. MASA is an all-volunteer organization and it is critical that we have individuals willing to step up and contribute their time to benefit the youth of the Murrysville Community.
